Open Ear favourites Wahaca are bringing music, art, film, culture, and of course brilliant Mexican street food together in a festival package in a celebration of modern Mexican culture on the 7th November. That means it’s just about in time to coincide with the traditional Day of the Dead festivities. Featuring performances from UK bands like The Horrors, Savages, and Crystal Fighters as well as Mexican greats Zoe and Mexrrissey (who really are a Mexican supergroup of superfans of the former The Smith’s man), it’s bound to be a blast. What’s more, they’ve partnered up with English PEN, a literary charity, to develop a programme of talks and debates, as well with the Saatchi Gallery to display a range of art installations. We can’t wait to join in the fun. Find out all about it.
