The Office Group

Open Ear manage, deliver and update all playlists for The Office Group. The playlist content was defined after a consultation period with The Office Group management and a survey of all members. They are designed to represent The Office Group as a dynamic, innovative and modern brand, whilst also catering to the wide member demographic and range of individual musical tastes. The Office Group music has the key purpose of creating the right soundtrack for working to, adjusting energy levels throughout the day to reflect mood.

The music content focusses on a wide range of music genres, but centres around mainly contemporary soul, alternative pop, leftfield electronica and chilled acoustic music, with some well-loved classics for familiarity. Chart pop, dance music and anything else too heavy or intrusive is avoided. The playlists should be varied enough to cater for all tastes but consistent enough to allow members to keep focussed on their work.

The main Office Group playlists contain a total of 600 songs and get updated with at least 60 new songs every month. In addition to these playlists, Open Ear also deliver additional playlists that are scheduled for specific times of day. At the moment, these include Motown Mondays (Monday mornings), Acoustic Covers (Wednesday mornings), Beach Party (Thursday afternoons), Funk and Soul Fridays (Friday afternoons). We also work with HoxtonFM to create specialist playlists for The Office Group.

&Co is The Office Group’s quarterly magazine. They regularly feature content on music including reviews and articles on the psychology of sound.
